Bret Aker, Managing Director

Bret Aker, Managing Director

Aker Wade Founding Principal Bret Aker has spent the last decade promoting electric vehicle fast charging technology across the globe. Under his guidance, Aker Wade has risen to the number one position in the North American industrial market. Now Bret is focusing on developing partnerships with companies in Europe and Asia. Prior to founding Aker Wade, Bret spent nearly the '90s in Japan, obtaining his MBA and working in the semiconductor industry developing new markets for U.S. technologies. He has recently moved back to Japan to support Aker Wade International's mission.

John Aker, Chief Technology Officer

John Aker, Chief Technology Officer

John Aker is CTO and founding Principal of Aker Wade Power Technologies. Prior to founding the company in 2000, John served at Cableform Inc., where he developed microprocessor-controlled IGBT and MOSFET drive systems for rail locomotives, mining equipment and other electric vehicles. His professional experience began at Teledyne Avionics where he designed avionics currently in use on F-14, F-15 and F-16 fighter jets. He has held leadership positions at Sperry Marine, National Optronics and IIHS Vehicle Research Center, where he developed advanced control and drive technologies for marine, commercial and testing applications.

Jim Wade, Director of Engineering

Jim Wade, Director of Engineering James Randall Wade, principal and founding partner, brings 25 years of power electronics experience to Aker Wade. Today, Mr. Wade focuses on firmware and hardware design, with emphasis on DSP microprocessors and associated analog and digital electronic circuit design, computer-based multiple-layer design of microprocessor and power PCBs, and design of embedded wireless communication interfaces. His background includes positions at ITT Avionics Division, Sperry Marine, Cableform, A-Systems, Inc. and a tour of duty with the United State Marine Corps. He holds a BSEE from Old Dominion University.

Bryan Norris, Director of Customer Solutions

Bryan Norris, Director of Customer Solutions As Director of Customer Solutions, Bryan Norris is responsible for identifying and qualifying customer leads as well as developing sales strategies in his Eastern and Mexico territories. Norris also manages the Customer Service Team who support over 17,000 charging ports across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia continents. In his current position, Norris draws on more than 14 years of experience with Aker Wade in various service and technical roles. From 2007 to 2014, Norris served as a Customer Service Manager and was responsible for resolving customer inquiries and issues. He developed metrics for delivering excellence in customer service and also implemented a new database for tracking customer calls and service cases. In addition, Norris developed training videos, programs and manuals for service technicians as well as the manuals used to train customers on their role in product maintenance. During this time, in addition to his role as Customer Service Manager, Norris also served as the Southeast Regional Sales Manager from 2012 to 2013 where he closing large projects in North Carolina, Florida and Georgia. Norris began his career with Aker Wade in 2002 as the third employee of the company in an assembly technician role and quickly rose to be an engineering technician in 2004. There he implemented schematics, diagrams, and written and verbal descriptions to effectively solve engineering issues with new and existing products. He also collaborated with design engineers at the new product introduction phase to develop and verify design changes.

Rob Brock, Director of Business Development

Rob Brock, Director of Business Development As Director of Business Development at Aker Wade, an industry leader for over 10 years in fast charging technology, I am responsible for growing our North American business. Utilizing my 15+ years of experience and relationships I will work closely with EnerSys, our exclusive partner in the Americas, for the Express charger line. Starting in the material handling industry as a sales and marketing associate with Flow-Rite in 2001, I worked my way up to Sales Director in 2009. With growth of the company, responsibilities were split in September of 2012 and I took a new position, Major Account & OEM Manager, to focus more time on building and maintaining our customers while looking for new growth opportunities. From 2015 to 2016 was the International Business Manager where I was responsible for developing the overseas market. Passionate about building relationships, helping people solve problems and communicating face to face with people - a dying art!

Michiel Hendriksz, General Manager, Aker Wade Europe

Michiel Hendriksz, General Manager, Aker Wade Europe

Michiel is a veteran material handling industry executive, with close to 3 decades developing and managing dealer networks, and building comprehensive service networks to respond to their needs. He is responsible for dealer development, training and driving sales and marketing plans for Aker Wade in Europe. Prior to joining Aker Wade Europe in January 2011, Michiel helped manage the Aftersales Division of BT Netherlands (now Toyota Material Handling) and also served as Vice President of Aftermarket for Jungheinrich USA. While at Jungheinrich USA, Michiel developed a dealer network across the U.S. Michiel recently served as Vice President Aftermarket EMEA for Nacco Materials Handling in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, where he was responsible for after-market sales and technical support for all Hyster and Yale dealers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  During his tenure, he successfully launched a new dealer support organization. Michiel speaks four languages -- Spanish, German, French and Dutch -- and currently lives in the Netherlands.

Lance Asouline, Director of Operations

Lance Asouline, Director of Operations Lance Asouline has more than 30 years in industrial distribution and manufacturing, and has been on board at AWPT since 2002. In his career he has worked for both large and small distributors and manufacturers. After serving in the United States Navy, he began his career in aerospace manufacturing on Long Island, New York, where he helped develop temperature sensing products for GM’s Detroit Diesel Allison Gas Turbine division. In a later role as purchasing manager for a major industrial distributor, he was responsible for contract pricing and managing inventory for resale to major aerospace companies. Lance, together with an all-star operations team, ensures that our products flow efficiently through the manufacturing process while maintaining the highest quality levels.

Owen Resh, Director of Marketing

Owen Resh has had the rare privilege of understanding electric vehicles from the inside out. As a design strategist, Owen was a key part of the team that designed the Chevrolet Volt® and spearheaded efforts to connect end-product execution with strategic messaging, systems efficiency, intellectual property positions and industry standards. Owen previously served at Menlo Park, California-based Design Think Research, where he led the effort to identify more than $50 million in operational savings for a manufacturer, and Industrial Art Services, a company he co-founded.

John McGrath, Director of Finance

John McGrath, Director of Finance

John McGrath has more than two decades of experience in financial management, serving as corporate controller and general accounting manager at multinational manufacturing organizations with sales between $80 million and $300 million. In addition to finance, John played an integral role in developing Aker Wade’s human resources department and streamlining operations through the implementation of technology.

Bob Mosolgo, Director of Software

Bob Mosolgo, Director of Software

Bob Moslogo has more than 30 years experience developing factory automation software for companies such as GE Fanuc Automation and Hewlett Packard. At GE Fanuc, as engineering team leader he developed and introduced Cimplicity Operator Interface, a personal computer-based graphical interface for factory automation applications. Bob has also started and grown his own automation software company, managing more than 50 developers. That company was successfully sold to GE Fanuc.

For nearly 50 years, Dave has been an industry thought leader, holding senior technical positions at ESB, Chloride, C&D and Douglas Battery. He has authored more than 50 scientific papers and chaired several Battery Council International (BCI) technical subcommittees. David lends his in-depth knowledge of disparate battery chemistries to ensure that our batteries aren’t just the solution for today, but for tomorrow. His vision is to help Aker Wade apply fast-charging to all battery chemistries to extend the viability of technologies and to ensure that a changing world has the technologies available to power it.
